If you haven't heard of Birchbox before, it's essentially an online store that sells a variety of beauty and lifestyle products such as makeup and skin care etc. They offer a subscription service for around £10 a month, if you're a student with UniDay's you can get 50% off your first box, full of a range of products that are suited to the profile you fill out when you sign up, they also occasionally send you out samples of new products for you to try! I would highly recommend signing up for one if you're like me and love high-end products but don't necessarily have the budget to splash out and buy tons of stuff, y'know student budgets and all that...
I've now received my first box and I already love the products I've been sent! The box included a great range of products; makeup, hair and skincare and what I've received I am loving using!
1. Nip + Fab Colour Corrector
This was the first product from the box that I tried and I fell in love with it instantly! If you're like me and suffer from dark under eye circles his is a God send! It looked a little bit scary when I put it on my face for the first time because it's bright orange but it blends really well into my base make up and truly does make my under eye are look so much brighter.
2. amika Style Extending Spray
This product is essentially a pocket sized dry shampoo but it is wonderful! Because I have such long and thick hair I don't always have the time to wash my hair in the morning (and I'm really lazy and value that little extra time in bed) so this little beauty is great for me to just spray on my hair and dash when I'm inevitably late for uni or work. It's also unlike any other dry shampoo I've used before, it doesn't leave my hair feeling dry and sticky like others as well as it doesn't leave a white residue in my hair and it smells incredible!
3. Baïja Paris Crème Moana in Fleur de Tiarè
I know the name is a bit confusing and I couldn't even start to pronounce it without butchering the French language but it is a brilliant moisturiser! I have really sensitive skin and suffer from eczema pretty badly so finding a moisturiser which agrees with me skin is pretty damn difficult! But after using this a couple of times my skin feels softer and so much more nourished, especially around the dry patches of eczema I had.
4. Polaar IcePure Gentle Scrub with Artic Cotton
With this scrub I've found that a little goes a long way! It is definitely one of the best facial scrubs I have ever used. I have the same issue as finding a moisturiser when I'm looking for a scrub, it's really difficult to find a scrub that won't really irritate my skin and dry it out even more so when this little beauty showed up in my subscription box I was extremely eager to try it! I would be really happy if I got this again in a later box.
5. Manna Kadar Cosmetics Radiance Split Pan Bronzer and Highlighter Duo
I have a love/hate relationship with bronzers, because I have red toned hair and a pale complexion it can be really hard to find a bronzer that doesn't make my face really orange but I also don't want to walking around with a ghostly pale face, especially after the winter months are over. This bronzer/highlighter duo is a really good shade for my skin, it gives the contours of my face a lovely sunkissed glow with an iridescent shimmer. I've also been really enjoying using bronzer as eyeshadow (a tip I got from Tanya Burr) and this is a perfect one for that multiple use.
I hardly ever give into subscription boxes but this one is soooo tempting! Great you got some Nip & Fab makeup in there too. 😍
